    Default 2.8 Oil change

The InSP 1000 came up on the dash the other week, it's been InSP 0 the last few days so I reckoned on doing an oil change. But I cannot find a service shedule in the documentation I was give when I bought the car (about 9 months ago). So:

    1. Where is the oil filter on the 2.8 turbo? I think I've spotted the drain plug underneath, in a squarish looking block. Do I need a new O-ring as specified in the "Oil and flush How 2"? How much oil will I need including a filter replacement?

    2. What else should I be checking at a 20,000/2 year service?

    3. Can anyone recommend a good workshop manual for the 2.8? I don't believe the Haynes covers this one.

    Thanks.

the oil filter is in an alloy housing hanging down the front of the engine, best accessed from underneath..23mm socket IIRC. The drain plug is on the back of the sump , drivers wheel side..

you will need new o rings to seal the housing and the oil quantity is in the capacities section of you drivers handbook...

on a 2 yr service you should be changing the brake fluid, as well as the remote fob batteries..change the air filter and the pollen filter as well..I usually throw a fuel filter in on a 2 yr as well..

just checked...the capacity is 6 litres...

Wow thanks for the rapid response. I take it the oil filter is not the canister type then? Probably why I couldn't find it.
