    Angry 3.2 GSi Tapping Help!

Since this morning my car has made a tapping noise from the top of the engine, (its defo not the bottom end) it sounds like a tappet from the middle front bank, would this be hard to change and whats the worst case that could happen if the tappet fails?

it sounds like it's just a noisy hydraulic follower.. is it close to needing a service? or has it just been serviced?..

Normally an engine flush will cure the noisy follower...however if it needs to come out, then they are about £16 each if you can identify the exact one.. or £16 x 24 if you can't.....

the cams need to come out, but the heads can stay on...worst case is noise and a decrease in performance.. it won't ruin the cams..

It was serviced 5000 miles ago mark which would have been over a year ago, do you recommend i try some engine flush and fresh oil? how much do you think VX will sting me to have the Hydraulic follower changed? cheers for the help so far mate
