Default Replacing head unit in Signum

    Hi all

I'm having trouble finding out exactly what parts I will need to replace the CD 2005 head unit in my 2003 (53) Signum Design. (Stereo Pictured below)

Obviously I will buy a Fascia plate (im presuming a Vectra one will fit?)

The head unit I have is Pioneer. Can anyone help me out for part numbers for the leads I will need to get the Pioneer to plug into the Vauxhall adapter, and to be able to control the steering wheel buttons.

The pic below shows the type of buttons I have (don't know if they differ in other models)

The screen is controlled from buttons on the end of the wiper stick, so Im presuming by deinstalling the Vaxuhall stereo, I will still be able to use the controls on the stick.

It was a lot easier in my old car to tell what I needed, but I can't get my head around the differences in all the Vauxhalls. And at £40ish for some of these cables, i don't want to risk getting the wrong ones, and the added hassle of sending things back.

I'm hoping someone has a similar model to mine, who can confirm what they bought.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Dan

Sorry, 1 other thing. Can someone please confirm the official colour of my dash:

ie. Black, Silver, Anthracite, Gun Metal

I know this may be obvious to some of you, but I want to make sure I get the right coloured Fascia

    Cheers

    Hi

Can't give you exact part numbers, but the bog standard Autoleads wiring loom will do the job. Just make sure you get the one for 2002-2005, not 2005 onwards, I think there's differences...

Don't know if you're aware, but you can buy a fascia adaptor AND wiring loom from Vauxhall for the same price as anywhere else - and they're guaranteed to fit and work properly.

As far as the steering wheel controls go, they'll still work for the trip computer if you have one, but if you want them to control the new stereo, you'll need yet another wiring loom. I would give Car Audio Direct a call for that - they're really knowledgeable and sensibly priced too. Ask them which part you need and they'll sort you out

    Cheers.

One question then, on my old car when I bought a steering wheel adapter, it was all wired in to a Autoleads wiring loom. Thus i'd wasted £12 on the original loom i'd bought.

With the Vauxhall ones, I don't want to make the same mistake. Do the steering stalk adapters come with all the wiring you'd normally get. Or should I buy a basic wiring loom and an adapter.

I hope that made sense, well it did in my head atleast

Makes sense - as far as I know you need a second loom. Better to phone and check though

Right, I replaced my CDR2005 with a Sony head unit, I bought the Vauxhall facia adapter / harness.
The harness only converts the single block of the vehicle harness into ISO standard plugs.

I bought a connects 2 stalk & display adapter, which allows control from steering wheel & puts info on display. My display is only the basic one with the 2 buttons, but ID3 info for MP3 tracks is displayed.

This connects 2 adapter plugged into the vehicle harness, & then into the lead from the head unit.
So you would not need the lead that comes with the VX facia if you get a stalk / display adapter.

Regarding your other question, I think you will find that the dash switch / radio colour is known as: Charcoal Metallic

Thanks guys, thats cleared a few bits up.

Charcoal metallic!? I presume they don't make a fascia plate to exactly match as i've only seen the colours that I listed.

What have others gone for? Black?

    Cheers
