Default Hello, my coil spring broke!

    Hi,
Just found the forum while googling for 'vectra coil spring'. Wish I had found it earlier as it is a really friendly and useful site.
I have had the vectra for 3 years and have been more than happy with it, until the coil spring went .

It's knocked my confidence in the car somewhat, but hopefully a new set of springs allround will keep me driving it for a few more years yet.

    Cheers
    Mike

I've lowered my GSi with PI springs when one standard one broke. Cost me £80 for all four, handles like its on rails now. Don't let one broken spring question your reliability view on the Vectra though, it could happen to anyone, especially with the amount of pot holes and speed humps there are these days. That's why we pay so much road tax, for rubbish roads!!!

The new springs will sort it out, it's a common problem. If you lost the front tyre and had the AA truck break down on the way to the dealer, you'll be the same as me!
I believe the Insignia, like some Saabs, will have shrouded springs.

to the club. The broken spring thing is relatively common. I had one go on my old Vectra B. Hope you enjoy the club and your car, plenty of useful stuff here to enhance ownership.

    Welcome.

For info broken springs are happening on many different makes of car due to our crap roads! Do not let it put you off. Get a set of Eibachs (as fitted to mine) and they have a 5 year warranty
