    Default Hire car number two.

Well the ultra comfy Passat has gone. Hire car company said they needed to replace it. Great car the only problem being the wallowey ride around corners. Ion mentioned the Sport version was the one to have. Otherwise I was smitten.

Anyway the replacement car is another Passat, only this time it's the Sport. and it's in the VW version of Moonland.

The Insignia had better be good because this car is simply brilliant.

Let me know what you think mate.

I've had mine since Feb & I'm probably more impressed with it now.

It's not faultless, there are minor things as with every car, such as the Cruise is needlessly tricky (and is an option on the sport, how tight is that!) & there is the odd rattle from somewhere now & again, overall though & it's difficult to pinpoint why but the drive is just superb.

I still find myself volunteering to drive & popping to the shops (taking the long route) just for the pleasure of driving it.

The only other car I did that with after owning it this long was my company 330ci bmw, but that was fully loaded & cost more than £35K.

Not sure G. Not seen the car since it was left at the dealer. I might pop down on Saturday and say there's no rush.

Yep, this one hasn't got CC which seems mad in a big modern cruiser.

Well quick update. Car was ready today. Nipped up after work with and spotted the car parked around the back.

A quick perusal showed that the replacement bits have been fitted fine but that 3 deep scratches have been added to the passenger side and the paint is cloudy on one of the new panels.

So rejected the repair and told them to try again. Didn't even get the key of them.

    Ding Ding round two.

    Hmm...thats not too good......

the clouding in the paint is because it's black.... i've had to have the signum ( the new 2.0T ) re polished twice to get it to stop 'milking' ... it's just a black paint thing.. they polish it, leave it a few days and back it comes....but they should know that....

The scratches are just unacceptable.....i hope they are blowing the whole panels again, not trying to do a localised job...
