    Default backplate behind brakes

    hi all just wondered if i remove the wheel will i see the backplate behind the discs so i can eliminate this as i have a metal noise coming from the front area on new brakes and discs hope this makes sense??

    it will be the back plates rubbing against the rear of the disk , I had this lol , they move easily when your handling the calipers etc : ) .
    So yes just remove wheel and you should see the problem.

    It's like a shim plate , I had the excact same issue after I did me brakes , Wat a wolly .

    so will i see it straight away? will i see something touching at the back? would rather do it myself than someone charge me money for just bending a bit of metal back

    yes it will be obvious mate. 5 mins to sort. I did my brakes in bad light and by the time I got everything back together it was dark , I had a bad scraping grating noise when driving , day after I took wheel off and looked behind disk and the plate was touching.

    You may get at it with full lock on steering just have a look.

    cheers mate so just to clarify alls i need to do is just bend a piece of metal away from the disc and that should cure it?
