    Default Steering is a little heavy and juddery

    any ideas??
    It's worst while I'm braking, but feels really heavy while trying to steer.

    1.8 sxi vectra.

    mine has been heavy and had it in garage its the powersteering pump had intermittent fault... getting sorted on warrenty. there a bit pricey if not ... price was 610.25 for parts plus labour.. but im sure glenboy got a reconditioned one for around 60 quid... thats if it is that... get it in the stealers for a look over

    ahhh so it does..

    yeah I now have a

    2003 53 plate Vec C 1.8 SXi.

    It seems to be very juddery, and doesn't like hard steering.

    Starting with the cheap and easy stuff first.... have you checked the level and condition of the power steering fluid? Good condition fluid should be cherryade-ish, bad stuff will be dark grey/black.

    Brothers veccy was the same he has a small leak in rack he topped his power steering fluid up (which is a pain in the arse) and it was fine,he's been quoted £165 i think for a replacement rack 4 day turn around tho

    tracking has been done a couple of months ago, and tyres were new at the time. Pressures are all good.

    As for the fluid, the level is ok, haven't checked the condition though. I may pop by the garage to get them to take a butchers.
