Top 10 Bendiest Roads !

Just spotted this in Auto Express -

1 B3081 Cann Common to Tollard Royal, Dorset / Wiltshire
2 A686 Penrith to Melmerby, Cumbria
3 A537 Macclesfield to Buxton, Cheshire / Derbyshire
4 A466 Monmouth and Staunton, Monmouth
5 A4061 Price Town and Treorchy, Rhondda, Wales
6 A157 Louth to Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire
7 B2130 Godalming to Cranleigh, Surrey
8 B6270 Keld and Reeth, North Yorkshire
9 A39 Bridgewater to Minehead, Somerset
10 B797 Mennock to Wanlockhead, Dumfries & Galloway

No. 10 is not too far from me, it is quite twisty but the road surface is in good nick, so it makes for a good drive & the scenery is fab too

Wanlockhead is the highest village in Scotland - 1531ft above sea level !
Need to watch out for stray sheep though

Not on the list, but a very interesting drive is from Worcester to Tenbury Wells. A blue light run at night is always good fun.

I'd agree with that.... coming over the top of abberley hill, then down into the teme valley can be a lot of fun at night!!!

The one at number 1 is called Zig-Zag hill,has about 5 180 degree hairpins,impossible to attack at any sort of speed

No.6 is near me but why?
Yes there's lots of bends but thats it, mostly flat and boring. There's far better driving roads than that one around here, some great driving roads are over the Lincolnshire Wolds around the Cadwell Park area.

Its no the 'best driving roads', but the 10 'bendiest' roads in UK

Apparently there were lots of roads tested for cornering forces etc and these 10 gave the highest figures !

I do love it when you come across a nice road where you can just push the car a little harder and it flows through the bends - I only ever get away with when I'mon my own though, my dear wife doesnt trust my driving!!

3 A537 Macclesfield to Buxton, Cheshire / Derbyshire

also known as "the cat and fiddle", for us Northerners is a Mecca at the weekend for bikers. The police are there to mop up the bodies at the casualty rate is quite high.

Impreza's and Evo's hang around hopeful to get a race with a biker.

I came down 2 years ago flying in a Omega with a Kwaccy Ninja on my tail.
The brakes were smoking by the time we got to the bottom 5miles later.

Its definately a underpants changing exercise.
