I'm off to Florida next week. It's been five years since I was last there. Anybody been recently who can tell me how much the Toll roads are now.
(And what does it cost to hire sat nav)

Can't help with toll roads, but when I was in Seattle late last year, SatNav from Avis was $10.95/day or $49.75/week with a max of $99.50.
This was plus tax (8.9% sales tax plus 9.7% rental tax). Obviously this was together with a car rental.
Also worth noting that the SatNav was down as a $450.00 charge if lost, stolen or damaged and was excluded from any form of hire insurance.
Cheaper to buy from Walmart and sell when I get back.
Don't most of the cars over there have it in now anyway??????
If you want to take the risk, don't specify it in the hire car, as most have it anyway. Bit of a gamble. If you really do need it, then not worth the risk IMO.
I thought you had a TomTom anyway??
Think the following will be helpful

I found the toll system very confusing over there. It all seemed a bit arbitary. Drive 10 miles. Stop and pay. Drive 40 miles. Stop and pay (the same amount) drive 5 miles. stop and pay (twice as much as you did for 40 miles.)
Odd.

You can avoid the toll road's in Florida. I know their is a one as you come out of Orlando airport but i'm unsure of the road.
I'd buy a tomtom at a wallmart, much cheaper. Their is a one about 2 mile from Orlando airport. Do a google on them and put in the airport zipcode.
I did the same 2 year ago to get a baby seat for the car saved a fortune.
i paid for it all in advance when i hired the car,may have not saved much money but made life simple and it felt good driving past without having to stop
i think they call it an e- pass and must register the vehicle as nothing was in the car
