confused Downsides of swapping my CDR2005 ??

    Hi All

A friend has offered me his Sony DAB6600 head unit and I'd love to swap it for my dismal CDR2005. A couple of questions:

    1. Is there an official VX fascia accessory to allow a single DIN unit in place of the CDR2005? I know there are plenty on ebay but worried about the quality and colour match.

    2. Exactly what features will I lose from the display? Will it be completely blank? I'd like to keep the clock and temp gauge. Anyway to do this? By the way this is a bog standard DTI LS.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

You can get leads that will keep all the stereo stuff on the screen mate, so you can see what MP3 is plating etc. You can also get the steering controls to work also. HTH Sony stuff works well with the OE kit. There is also a fascia available from VX to match your dash.

Sorry, bit of an ICE noob. What leads would I need then and where would I get them? Would they be 'plug n play' or would I need to cut and solder?

    Cheers

Plug and play mate. Bump this thread later as there are guys on here who have done it and will give you part numbers etc. Try Autoleads for a start.
