    Default emission light help!

Hi guys, I had to change a bulb today so removed airbox and maf to gain access, my problem is after replacing them I now have the emission light lit on the dash. I tried disconnecting the battery for 10mins to see if it reset. This didn't work and I now have an F where the outside temp used to be displayed. Any help appreciated.

thanks for the reply but as the connection for the maf has a clip that ensures it is connected properly. I don't think this is the problem

leave the battery disconnected for at least 40mins. 10mins isn't enough.

Mine has done silly things unless disconnected for 40mins.

F on the outside temp sensor display means 'FAULT'.. so check the plugin connector for problems.. mind you they are very fragile and sensitive to voltage spike so you may have even blown it.. new one's are around £6+vat from VX..

Hi guys thanks for the replies, I tried leaving the battery disconected for longer as ghostrider suggested, this brought back my temp display. The emission light was still on but has since gone out. The only thing is the emmission light and the car and spanner light stay on untill the engine is started then both go out. Does this mean I have a fault code that needs reset?.

For future reference, unless you have really big hands you don't need to remove the airbox to change the dipped beam, main beam or sidelight bulbs. Well, not for pre-facelift anyway.
