    Default Child Seats

I am new here so i am hoping some one can help.

I need a new car seat for my 10 month old son who is rapidly growing out of his current one. I have spent the last 3 months running around all the usual shops with no joy.

My so has a few developmental issues so he still needs to be reward facing. I know there are seats on the marking that switch from reward to forward up to 4 years but they don't fit my car. unfortunately i do not have ISO fix in my car.

If any one can offer any help or advise much appreciated

i thought all vec-c's had isofix on the two outer rear seats mate
i could be wrong and i am sure someone who knows better will be along shortly
might also be worth emailing some of the seat manafacturers to see what they have available or if they have any ideas for you

Mothercare, Britax SI can be used rearwards and forwards. The staff where really nice and even fitted it for me. I still have mine and Hollie is now 19 months old (had it since she was 5 months old).

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks guys for the info.

Unfortunately i have been to Mother Care and tried the Britax Si and they said it does not fit. something to do with the seat belt buckle being to long. I have also emailed Vauxhall GM motors direct and all there reply was dunno not very helpful. i have also emailed and still waiting a reply from 3 of the leading manufactures of child seats including Britax.
This was my main reason for registering on this site as i seemed to be hitting brick wall after brick wall.
I will try Mother care again but a different store and see what they say.

Once again cheers for getting back to us. hopefully i will be back on soon

    Hi Colin,

The one's we use for both of our two are the Britax "First Class" model. They can be fitted either rearward or forward facing, fit the Vectra rear seats very well at least forward facing (admittedly haven't tried rearward) and are very secure.

That will be buckle crunch, if you have an accident it will smash the buckle if its resting on the seat frame.

I had this problem on my Vec B as the seat belts were too long (common problem) , i wouldnt have thought its a problem with the C as they are sunk in to the seats.

Have you looked on the Britax fit finder on there site ?

Don't really understand how they can say the "Britax SI" doesn't fit. I have had this chair in both my 52reg veccy and now my 56reg veccy. It was used both rearward and forward in my 52reg.

I would go with your other suggestion of try another mothercare.

The VX branded seats used to be Britax, so don't understand how they don't fit, as most of the popular ones were available as VX badged through the accessories brochure?:
