    Default clutch

Has anyone had this happen to them? Ive got a 07 deisel vectra and last night I pressed the clutch pedal down and it stayed there! I thought the clutch had gone but when I checked the pedal it seems it had gone past its spring tensioner. Is this common and how do I adjust it to stop it happening again. All I done to fix it was pull the pedal back, but I dont fancy it happening again. Got a quote from vauxhall for a new clutch and they said£600, so I hope it is only the pedal. Ive only had the car 6 weeks!!!

    two things..

unless it's got more than 60,000 miles on it it's still under VX warranty so you can give it to them to fix.. OR as you've had it such a short time you are legally allowed to ask the trade seller to repair it as the fault is deemed as 'present at time of sale'...

Also as ive found with my recent purchase if they give you any p*sh about repairing the fault threaten them that you will return the car under the sale of goods act as your purchase is unfit for purpose!

Hopefully it wont go that far but as ive found they will try every under hand tactic in the book to weasel out of repairs.

If youve bought the car from a dealer after such a short time i would expect them to carry out the repairs as the clutch would have been faulty when they sold it to you.

Phoned them today and they were not interested. They said clutch was not under warrenty so if I want them to look at it I would have to sign something which would allow them to open the gear box. When I told them how p****d off I was they said the last owner may have been a clutch rider. Not happy but like I said I think I have fixed the fault, so time will tell. Bit of a strange day!
