Car failed M.O.T. on Thursday, this is what was needed.

    Front coil springs x 2 £120.00
    O/s front droplink £ 14.55
    N/S rear upper suspension arm £ 62.50
Set front brake pads £ 27.00
    £120.00
    Labour £193.55
    V.A.T. £ 54.81
    Total £421.16

I tried pricing the parts myself and was just about £350, so I decided to go ahead with the garage quote as I needed it done "yesterday".
Put it in Friday morning 8:30 got it back 4:00pm.
Well done Kelvin Autos East Kilbride.

Glad you've got it sorted, that list looks like the usual Vectra suspects !

very suprised that only one of the rear suspension arms had worn, they always seem to go in pairs. I dont think I would replace just one, bit like replacing one damper. Front coil springs ,do they mean the springs around the damper? Had they broke? I would have thought you would have noticed that before the MOT. Sorry to sound cynical about garages but have not found a good one yet.

On my car both had failed as well, so having only one fail suggest East Kilbrides roundabouts have had some affect!

I too was worried about my cars first MoT
However, it had been serviced by VX Glasgow South just the month before
The car was submitted with two front tyres at 2.0mm, Kwik Fit passed them both, but struggled with the emissions as their machin returned a nil reading
Strangely the worn rear wheel bearings weren't picked up on either the service or MoT

    Only 40,000 miles.

When I was going round one of our famous roundabouts about 3 weeeks ago, I heard a cracking noise so I assume that was the spring going (I know but I was too lazy to check). The car did handle like a marshmallow on the ice, but it would with all those faults.

I do not have any worries with the garage, as I do know the owner quite well, and he relies on word of mouth and recomendations for work. He also kept all the parts for me to check before he threw them out, so no worries there.
