Default Noise from wheels - again

I had a droning coming from back wheels for a while now, checked out thread and a lot of people coming back with tyre issues.

I swaped my front wheels and back wheels around tonight and now the droning is at the front, (seems to be louder on front too) so hopefully it got to be the tyres.

Anyone know if its down to tyre brands, as ive never had it before and the goodyear F1's on car are not looking ready for replacement (not long been through MOT). ?

nope, it's down to the rear wheel alignment.. it wears 'steps' into the treadblocks which make the 'hum'

some tyres do hum more than others, but f1's are normally quite quiet..

It "may" be down to the rear alignment
I had mine checked, twice, nothing wrong with it
Turns out it is a sign that the rear wheel bearings are on their way out
The noise can first be heard at about 50 to 60mph
As the bearings wear this increases to between 40 and 70mph
Eventually it can be heard all the time, and that's what happened to mine

VX dealership was convinced it was tyres, twice
However, did a static test of the rear of the vehicle
With rear of the car jacked free of the ground and rear tyres spinning at an equivalent 40mph the noise could clearly be heard, and without the tyres on the ground it was clearly a wheel hub issue

he swapped his rear tyres to the front and the noise moved with it...

how the HECK can that be related to his wheel bearings.....

JUST because vx misdiagnosed YOUR car, don't go mis advising members on a fairly obvious technical matter..... in fact.. after all your previous errors in your technical advice folks would be wise to ignore your comments..
