Unhappy CDTI 150 - Total loss of power

Took my 05/05 CDTI to the shops, would have been quicker bringing one of the trolleys back.
Noticed lack of turbo 'whistle' when trying to accelerate.
Car almost 2 weeks out of warranty with 59K on the clock.
Booked it in with VX they found a Vac pipe to the turbo split. Total cost £133.09 so not so bad.
    Pipe cost £17.00 plus VAT.

Perhaps a fault that may become more prevelant as this model gets older, I will post the part number of the pipe tomorrow.

If it was only 2 weeks out of warranty I would still have expected them to help out if not do it for free! It may also be worth looking at the threads on here about "swirl valves".
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Hi, Big Sig.
Had the swirl valves (inlet manifold) replaced a little while back.
Reason I went back to Vx was I had the turbo replaced under warranty about 10 months ago. Also had the EGR replaced about 1 month ago as a warranty job. I have sent a letter to Vx asking for a contribution to this repair, I will post their response.

Pipe replaced was Pt No 90543673 Hose 5.3 I-D Cost £17.45 plus VAT.
They also carrie dout the handbrake recall work.

Just to hijack this thread slightly...

My 54 120 had a turbo replaced at 54k under warranty. This seems to be fairly common.

Did Vx modify the turbo design at all, or is it basically the same turbo? That means I can expect it to fail again at around the 100k mark!
