Default box and fuel pump worrys

Hi I have looked into the boxes with great dept. there Is only one thing that worries me I have been on a vectra-C.com site and have read about some fuel pumps giving up and throwing up codes eg to much pressure in fuel rail is this some thing I should be worried about. I sometimes use Astra Owners Network Forum and nobody has said any thing like this before, .???

That's because AON aren't as wise as us

Technically, yes, a box could cause problems with the common rail. In reality, I can't remember the last time anyone posted on here with a problem related to a boxed 1.9 CDTi. It's only the Euro4 3.0CDTi engines that have had real problems with failing fuel pumps.

Any tuning places extra strain on the engine, but all the boxes will be designed to operate with the engine's limits.

Whether it be a box a remap or whatever, you're always going to put more pressure on your high pressure pump, common rail/clutch/gearbox/tyres/wallet.

Whether the tuners know what the limits of said bits and pieces are, nobody knows, because nobody really tests them for long enough....except us that is.

Has anyone on here had a prefacelift 3.0 V6 CDTi with fuel pump problems after a remap?

Months back I was so close to getting mine remapped at Torquing bhp, then bottled it - just incase. It's a shame really cuz the figures they quote look really very tempting and I sometimes do wish it had a bit more go. I guess I've just got used to it?

Harry and Mark the Cabby both run remaps from there on their prefacelifts

Cabby's is an auto I think (no gearbox worries for him) and I think I read somewhere that he didn't go the 'full Bananas' on the remap.
