    confused slipping auto gearbox?

not sure if its normal or not, but if i give my car some welly, the gears go from 1-2 fine, but when it comes to go from 2-3, it seems to feel like its 'slipping the clutch' for a second or 2.. is this normal, or am i going to have to get my god dam wallet out AGAIN???

if you mean it takes a moment to change then yes, it's not instantanious...

the condition of the fluid in the box will tell you a great deal more about whats going on inside the unit.....

if i hoof it away from the lights it changes from 1st to 2nd like a manual, but when it changes fron 2nd to 3rd its as if the clutch slips for a second or two, then 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th its fine again..

i've checked the oil and its pretty clean red colour at the right level with no sign of pinkyness, so thats ok.

    maybe its normal?

    Query?

Are you using the full kickdown when you, "Hoof it"?

That could be the problem, the gearbox does not understand what gear it should be in, whilst changing from 1st to 2nd will be fine, whilst Kickdown is still there, it will behave as if it wants to change back into 1st, which it will not, this will delay its' changing into 3rd.

If I use full kickdown when accelerating from start then this does a similar thing to what you say.

If however you push the pedel to the point of kickdown, it will accelerate properly, it will give a small timing break between gear changes, but should not, "Slip" as you say

    Not sure if this helps
