    Default autobox fault on 3.2 vectra elite

    lookers chester changed ecu that didnt work now they are changing the airflow metr next.was told would still have to payfor these parts even if it didnt cure the problem....forgot to say gearbox in limp mode. 2and5 in tiptronic.top only in auto. already got them to check for water in oil but they say its ok........

    what codes have they got?...engine and gearbox..

    Haven't seen one of these threads for a long time now - I thought all the auto box problems must have been ironed out by now?

    Wasn't the usual culprit coolant in the ATF, closely followed by not enough ATF?

    I DONT NO, THEY JUST TELL ME NEW ECU GOT RID OF MOST FAULTS,BUT STIL KEPT COMING UP AIRFLOW FAULT.

    THEY ALSO TELL ME OF A RECALL ON GEARBOX SEALS WHICH THEY WILL DO AT NO COST TO ME.
    CAR IS 5YR OLD HAD IT FOR 3YRS BUT NEVER BEEN INFORM OF A RECALL!!!!

    they keep information like the seals 'quiet' as they are done 'in service' and have never been done as an 'official recall' so you wouldn't have had any notification.. it's quite a common practice in the motor industry..

    if it's still coming up airflow fault, i take it they have checked for split breather hoses and any for of leak that can let unmetered air into the engine?
