    Default New Brakes Required

I need to replace front and rear pads and disks on my 2005 Vectra Elite 1.9CDTI, I've been quoted £400 by dealers and £400 by quick-fit both fitting standard spec disks and pads I can get EBC drilled and grooved with green stuff pads for £375.

just wondering is it worth while doing a big brake upgrade and what the cost are going to be or does anybody else recommend different pads and disks?

you can't beat the big brake upgrade from LMF, but it ain't cheap at £300+...

those prices BTW are a ripoff.. both VX and kwakfit will pay under £100 for all the parts, so they are charging you £300 for an hours work...

    Thumbs up

try auto-vaux for the brakes i replaced mine on the veccy b i put 308mm disks and calipers on the front you need a different hangers to move the calipers out i have mintex pads all round the disks are mintex i drilled them up myself
i was told the disks on the 1.9 cdti 150 should be running 308 mm disks but when i checked mine they are 288 mm, when the time comes bigger is always better so the missus says

    You bet they do

Make sure you ask for the disc & pad sets, price is £65 + VAT per axle set, less if they give you a discount. So under £200 for your parts, and any garage will be able to change the lot in under an hour.

Have a look in the 'Part Numbers' section - there's a thread with the part numbers for each size disc & pad set
