Default El Cheapo ebay Grille fitted today

OK chaps, just fitted it and I am pleased with the result (£40 in all). Only one concern I have, the original Vx grill has a rubber padding bit all round and the grille I fitted does not. I think this may be an area for corrosion in time 2 come if it eats into the paintwork. May add my own padding if I can get some self ahesive stuff. BTW for all u chaps that have added the irmscher grille, does it have any rubber padding round it to protect the paint?

Just fitted the same grill and noticed the same thing. The bonnet is painted all the way in to the recess so should not worry about corrosion. I think its to stop Vibrations. I just made sure the screws were tight and centralised the grill. looks good mate!!

Anyone know if it would be illegal to fit extra lights inside the front, top radiator grille. Just ordinary lights, not flashing ones that old bill has (that would be illegal for joe public)? This would probably look quite cool when the lights were on

Definately not blue ones! They don't like blue ones, flashing or not!
I think a lot of the time its down to the individual officer. Thats my experience anyway!

Extra lights would be cool but they would have to be a 'main beam' or 'fog light' kind of thing rather than standard dipped as these are measured as part of the MOT?

I guess if they don't blind people you'd prob be alright day to day.

    Looks good btw

by law you must have e-approved lights on front and rear, these lights must not be distracting in anyway and must not obscure the vision or other road users. you can however have lights on the side of the car as long as they are not distracting and obscuring from a front or rear view
