    Default Traveling

Well i travel a lot with work. But i feel for this guy that arrived today to help me out. He traveled from Bangalor 36 hours by train. Then he traveled 70 k this morning from Delhi 3 1/2 hours 2 buses and 2 taxi's. He was a little shocked to see i had most of the work done and i told him i was going home wednesday night if i could get a flight.

He will travel back to Bangalor thursday or friday. It's a bl00dy 2000 kilometer trip.
    Rather him than me.

I told him to stay in the hotel with me tonight to save him traveling back to Delhi another 3 hours in this nightmare traffic and back in the morning and same again wednesday. But he said his company will not pay the 4000 Rupees = 50 quid per night.

4000 rupees is a lot of money over there for a room for the night.

If you consider that we pay the taxi drivers about £25 for the week (and they don't do other jobs - we get the taxi at our beck and call from 8am to whenever we get 'home' at night - usually about 7:30)

So who would pay 2 weeks money for a night in a hotel?? Or go on the bus?

It's all about relative value, not how much it is worth in UK.

How's your sewage works working Glen ?

I can see these people have very little money. And earn very little.
They are extending the site i'm working at and there is about 3000 local workers walking around in flip flops with towels around the waist's and plastic bowls on their heads " I'm not kidding "

Water works has stopped due to the heat and sweating it out.
I had my first number 2 tonight since i arrived on friday and it was quite solid. "Sorry for the details people"

I ate lunch today a the canteen. Some sort of potato mushed up and fried, dry coldslaw sandwich and a mixed fruit "with green beans and mushrooms " salad. Not to bad really.
