    Default Fitting Mud Guards

I 'm looking at getting some Mudguards for the SRI. Found them on LMF for £30 all-round. I got a quote from my local VX dealer of £67 +£25 fitted At £15 (I guess) per thats almost 2 hours labour! They can't be that difficult to do can they?

Don't know. I've got a set here that I haven't fitted yet. Problem I have is that I don't know if they'll fit with the Irmscher skirts on.

The back ones are a doddle, but the front ones require the drilling of a hole in the (plastic) sill cover (one per side). You need to take the wheels off and you can certainly get the car high enough on the standard jack to get your Black and Decker between the sill and the floor.
They really set the car off nicely and protect the bodywork a bit - but not as much as the old-fashioned long flappy type of mud flap!
Some people paint them but I've not bothered. As long as you get no wax polish on them they should stay looking smart long term.

You should get them fitted in less than two hours - I did!
Possibly there's more of a case for painting them when they're used on a black car as any fading of the trim will make them appear a very shabby grey against the shiny black.
Those of us lucky enough to have the various silvers and greys, don't have this problem as a little lightening of the black plastic trim doesn't really show up at all.

I think you'll find that most dealers charge £50+ per hour for labour these days, so £25 is half an hour!!
