Default Help Car Keeps Losing Power

Little bit of background history don't know if its relevant but it will hopefully help, I got my car a Vectra Elite 1.9 CDTI Auto on Friday the 1st of August (not from main Dealer), great car loads of power, apart from a bit flat when setting of from junctions.

On Friday Night I went to Bradford to pick my son up from my ex-wife, the fuel light started flashing on the way back on the A1 so I filled up at a BP petrol station putting 59Ltrs of BP Ultimate diesel in don't know what was in before due to getting full tank when I got the car, but I had added Millers Diesel Sport 4. did the same to tank of BP just put in.

On Saturday car went to get A/C fixed needed couple of seals and gassing, done for free by garage where I got the car from, great now had A/C working nice and cold.

went back to Bradford on Saturday night to take my son back to the Ex, then went to see friends in Bradford, car is still running ok at this point, decided to go and get a take-away, went to pull out of a junction and lost all power and the car with a spanner started flashing, pulled car to side of road put in park with hazards on and started the car all ok apart from now car is saying SERV 1000. Got Take-Away and left friends at about 3AM, roads very quiet back to Doncaster but still drove car at 60MPH all the way back it did not die at all, decided to book in to Stealers for them to have a look at and service.

On Sunday had to go and get some shopping due to Vectra Being only car we have took that needless to say did not get any shopping done car died three times when trying to pull out from junctions.

Went to Vauxhall in Doncaster and they cant do anything until tomorrow morning so I have had to drive to Scunthorpe this morning car was ok using lot of fuel and if tried to accelerate hard got flashing car and spanner so drove to work at 50MPH. I know I should probably not be driving the car today but if I don't work I don't get paid.

Has anybody got any ideas what is wrong? and is it going to be covered by warrantee that expires in December?

Sounds like the car is on ECO Flex servicing and it is now warning you that a service is due within 1000 miles
Book it in NOW, for about four weeks time, and list all the faults and errors

That will depend on mileage and age of vehicle

You don't mention the Age, Body (Estate Etc) or Mileage of the car ??

Im thinking Inlet manifold & the Ole Swirl valve issue, Hopefully something cheaper & simpler like a sticking Egr !!!

As said above, needs looking at & the amount of time you have had it the garage should sort it out .. Out of Good will, Did they give you any warranty ??

Normal consumer law gives him 3 months warranty regardless of what the dealer says.....

car is 2005 55 plate Vectra elite 150cdti auto (new shape) with 30591 miles had 30002 miles when i got it,

I'm not taken back to garage where I purchased it from due to the sending it to the same garage that did the A/C and they are a set of Muppet's drooped A/C connectors twice on wing and front bumper causing paint damage all they said was oops and when i said I wanted it fixing they said its 3 years old with lots of other scratches, so I have taken the car to local Vauxhall dealers.

It sounds very much like probs i'v had with my signum its also 1.9CDTI
with me it was inlet manifold and egr valve. Get it sorted now as it costs ££££££. Also just had simler probs but now they tellin me its the swirl actuator .wait for it £540.00 to repair. This is only 3 month after having new intake manifold and egr valve fitted.
Best of luck to you ........but again get it sorted now.

Been in to Perrys Vauxhall today at 8:30 got given car keys back at 11:30 and got told it needs new EGR Valve, Inlet Manifold and Swirl Actuator, car goes back in on thursday the 21st for them fitting and they will have the car for the day, thankfully getting a curtacy car and its all geting coverd by vauxhall warantee.

they did tell me that it needs new front pads and disks and rear pads and the rear disks are 50% worn, and it needs a service.
