    Default A question for 3.2 gsi : )

Hi mate , need your advice on somethin , just replaced oil cooler and what a *****.
Everythin is back together now , but I have a bit of an idlespeed issue , sometimes it's bang on 750 rpm , and other times it will creep up to the 1000 rpm .
It never did this before and the only thing I can think is maybe something is clogged like a breather.
It was very messy and I had to flush the cooling system about ten times to get rid of the gloop.
I think your the only one who can help , it's doin my head in mate !

I´m not Mark, and I´m not even close to his mechanical knowledge, but any way .....have you checked the Idle valve itself? Making sure everithing is clean and well connected?.

    He's seen it..

check ALL the breather lines...and check for air leaks on the inlet manifold now you've had it off as unmetered air leaking in will let the car rev up slightly without the idle valve being able to control the idle..so check the seals aren't nicked and leaking...that would be my main start as it's about all you have disturbed that could affect the idle speed...
