Whining Noise

Hopefully someone can help me out; I have a whining noise on my 2.2 veccy (Z22SE) sound changes with revs, however after driving for maybe just a couple of miles the noise disappears completely and engine is quiet (very quiet this one) and no whining noise; the Vx dealer (hopeless!!) I bought it from has changed the Auxillary Drive belt and said that it was weathered and noise should go , but as said it's still there asked him to check the tensioner before he put new belt on and says the tensioner is fine, however I am begining to wonder!! any ideas guys ,could the tensioner still be the issue? or would the noise be there all the time even when engine's warm if it was the tensioner?

Exactly what I was thinking - (My Mrs of course not yours lol)
