There you go (assuming, of course, that you're running windows!)

Class, the 2 best spyware killers on the planet! Was just going to suggest them. I use the pair of them and spyware does not stand much chance of getting in to our network.

Interesting piece on the bbc site (news/technology) about spyware and a forum set up to tackle it. I went there and found a comprehensive trila of all the market leaders. Ad-ware came tops and I downloaded it. found loads so far!

Our IT department have been pushing a couple of articles written about Zone Alarm -the popular free firewall and internet security suite- since they were taken over a while back.

Aparently there is now a routine embedded within the XML programming that sends user information and other data back to it's servers. In my book this makes Zone Alarm spyware, our IT department (C&V NHS trust) seem to think so too.

interesting one that... seeing as thats the whole idea of spyware, so to be supposedly against it and then put the same thing in your own coding...

anywhoo... back to topic, i personally use a program called a-squared.
It is a program that seeks out all forms of malware
i am using the trial version at the moment (which performs full scans and actually lets you remove any malware found, which is good for a trial version)
i ran it the other day as i some how managed to get the 'WhenU' adware which pops up targeted advertising.
along with removing that, it also took out 223 other malware files
