    Default Roofboxes???

Having aquired a few bits and bobs recently we're gonna need some additional carrying capacity.

Been looking at the Thule versus the Halfords ones. I really like the all Black Halfords one but thought I'd ask first if anybody has any experience of either brand particularly if the Thule ones are worth the extra money?

Haven't ruled out going the trailer route yet but want to explore this option too.

    Any comments appreciated.

Rich has a roof box Steve. I'm sure he will be along to advice.
Trailer would mean a towbar aswell mate, they look nasty unless you get the removable one.

EDIT What was i saying about him above.

What size is your roofbox Rich? Looking at the amount of stuff we have it's gonna have to be around 470 litres (described as medium) at least.

You're a star. It's a good reference as I saw yours fitted at Ellesmere Port.

Yes mate, not sure about a tow bar TBH. Nearly went for Alex's removable one last year but decided against in the end.

pic's matey.....we nicknamed it the coffin.....

cost us £100.00 second hand, takes all sorts and is about 7ft long.....

think the new price is about £350.00 +...very expensive new but you have to have a good look around and you will get one i am sure for les than half that price, had a look at the halfords one's and they felt very flimsy tbh compared to this one...hth mate

My future brother-in-law bought a Thule roofbox and roof rack for his Zafira a few months ago from these guys http://www.roofracks.co.uk/index.htm

For the roofrack and the 480litre box he paid about £300inc and was the cheapest we could find. The service was excellent - kept fully informed and no problems at all.

Box is good quality, only disappointment is that it only opens on the drivers side - no problem on a campsite for them but on the side of the road it could be a problem.
