    Default Autoreverse Windows

I might be wrong here, but i remember reading that the vectra as with all new vauxhalls had safety autoreverse electric front windows, hence, I pressed my window button in for the 1 touch closure, then put my arm out the window, and the window didnt stop and autoreverse, it just kept coming, and nearly jammed me arm in the window.

so, was what I read wrong, or is it that my car isnt high enough spec on the trim list, or is it another feature vauxhall deleted from the vectra standard spec list.

the function certainly isnt broken cos its not even a year old and everything else works fine, and in the windows the open and close an the 1 touch works fine etc.

    any ideas??

As far as I knew it was the law that they had to have an anti-trap function.

The best way to test it is to bring your window up and press down on it with your hands, and it should drop a few inches and stop. Slightly safer than sticking your arm out and hoping it stops!

It should have this feature. The window has to feel some resistance, it doesn't just detect something being in the way when the window goes up i.e it works on feeling resistance rather than any sort of beam detector type thing.

You need to be a bit brave!, lol, and let the window actually start to 'trap' your arm and it will instantly reverse. Or do what JP7 says and give it some 'artificial' resistance and it will do the same.

Should'nt your feet be on the pedals Rob How the hell did your ankle get stuck in the window or is it something you would like us not to know about
