just had new discs and pads all round fitted to my vec (1.9tdci) now the brakes seem to work fine but the thing is if i leave my foot hard down on the brake pedal it goes almost to the floor and you can pull the handbrake up just about as far as it will go iv checked the brake fluid level and have not lost any do you think the dealer has done something and should i phone them back

Tell u somethin , that sounds like the master cylinder to me , maybe they have wound the pistons back in wrong , or mullered them , I know this can cause the seal in the master cylinder to go adrift.
The best way to release the fluid is to undo the bleed nipple on the caliper so not disturbing anything else.
Hope you get it sorted mate.
If your in the aa/rac ring em , they will have a look i'm sure , and if they have done what I think , give em hell mate.

i belive the m/c on the new vectra are "double sealed" preventing this ever happening? i do belive this is diesel creep tho? never had a problem with mine. try giving them a good bleed or even a fluid change. mine felt a little better if the m/c has gone the pedal will creep when pumped with the ignition off. mine stays nice and hard.( pedal that is lol)

it's a quirk of the servo... as long as the pedal pumps up hard with the engine off the master cylinder is fine.....

it is quite common with vectras after the pads are changed.. it will disappear..

Must say after doing mine on a ramped pit, I pumped everything up, rolled off the ramp and the car wouldn't stop, bit of a brown trouser moment. After parking up and then a little drive, the handbrake sorted itself and pedal went straight back to its normal operating range.
