    Default bonnet shake at speed

    hello all,

hopefully this is the right place to post this...

recently, on a private runway that i found myself on... found that at speeds over 100mph in the gsi the bonnet seem to shake, clearly the higher the speed the worse it got... today on another test circuit at around 85-90mph experienced the same, albeit a bit windier today...

had a look over the car, the bonnet is properly shut, i.e not on the latch which is how it first seemed...

has anybody here had the same thing happen to them... would be nice if there was a fix as it's pretty scary when this happens...!!!

    thanks all

There are four such adjustable stops. Try grasping the bonnet and trying to lift it, and also try pressing it down where the stops are to see if there is any play in them. There should not be any gaps betweent the rubber stops and the bonnet itself. The area where they contact will shows signs of gaps and or movements if you look closely.

Look here, cicled in green for the stops.
