Default Does K&N panel filters kill MAF Sensors?

All, I have just fitted a K&N panel filter to my Vec 1.9CDTi to compliment the recent BSR remap (and the bottom airbox mod done 2 years ago). This is a new filter straight out the box, i.e. oiled by K&N. In your experience, will this clog up the MAF sensor over a period of time with oil or is it only if you clean the filter and over oil are problems likely to arise?

    Thanks.

BTW, the car flies along nicely now. Ive never had such a strong acceleration since I owned a V6 petrol engine years ago.

Straight from the box they are ok it's when people clean and re-oil them that problems start as they tend to use too much oil !!!!!

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

no evidence that panel filters do any damage, dealers claim maf damage but k&n test loads and no trace of oil in lab tests, half of all maf's tested by K&N have no fault - after dealers changed them as faulty !!

I have had them in all my cars and no problems.

As others have said its down to over oiling, you only need to make the element red colour again when cleaned not use the whole can.

If K&N filters were harmful, they wouldn't be as popular as they are. As Chris (Drinky) says, over-oiling is at the root of any problems.
