    Default I'm back!

Hi everyone, have I missed anything?

We had a great time & were very lucky with the weather, it only rained constantly on Monday night & some of Tuesday, otherwise there were only showers. We even got on the beach a couple of times & it was hot!

We travelled around & had a look at a few places including Lynton & Lynmouth which were really picturesque.

The Passat performed superbly. The twisty roads & steep hills were perfect to test the suspension & torque. When you pull out of a tight bend, the car hauls very strongly & effortlessly from about 1500rpm, & gives a nice sporty howl as well. It didn't feel like we had 5 people in the car at all!

I averaged 47mpg on the whole trip, the runs on the way there & back were 52mpg. The tank wasn't quite full when I left, it shows I travelled 550miles & still have 150 range left. I'm not sure if it's a 60 or 70 litre tank, but not bad either way!

Here are a few pics from various places.

This place is Lynton, it's so hilly!

The scale of this was amazing!

    Woolacombe looks stunning.

Some good pics there. Reminds me of the South Wales coast line and villages.

Snowman, you got your ears on?

Great pics and glad you had more luck with the weather than we did.

Got a Passat hire car at the moment and agree about the low down torque. Still not sure about the handbrake though.

Hi Ian. Glad you had a good time Larisa and I have been all along that coast. Did you manage to stop your car at the bottom of the hill by Lynmouth, It is a bit steep "eh" We got brake fade in Larisa,s Vectra the first time we went down it.

Mine is a 170bhp sport, the thing that impresses me the most is how it delivers the power, its very smooth, & effortless, so I find I drive it that way.

The jury's out for me on the handbrake as well mate, I can't decide if it's a gimmick or a genuine advancement. It makes a cool noise when you put it on/off though, if someone's by the car it's a propper head turner! Also it's great to hill start, you just pull away & it releases itself (most times anyway, it does occasionally embarass you by failing to release!!)

It is still one of the best cars I've owned, level pegging with the 330ci I had.

Not sure which one I've got other than it's a 2.0 Tdi. It's defo not a sports model as it wallows about a bit but it's fully loaded, leather, heated seats etc. Nice car
