Fuel Problem. Please help

Sorry not been on here for a loooonnggg time ! very busy,

Just need some quick advise if you can please.

I am work, and my vectra 2.0DTI, the fuel light is on, and i reckon in the next 5 miles it will start to flash.

I live 30 miles away from home, and have no money with me (well 3 pounds lol)

Just wondering what you think are my chances in getting back without adding any more deisal?

or do you think i should use the 3 pounds wisely and put some in?

i totally forgot to bring my wallet this morning, and kinda stuck now.

Well if you only have three pound i dont think you can fill up anyway theres a minimum you have to use on the pumps.

yh thats right i think its 2 lr, which means at 1.22 at the moment would cost in the region of 2.50, so might just get away with it

sorry dont have a display in my car, just the standard clock and radio, if thats what you mean't

i have travelled previously and the light has started flashing when im half way home, so 15 miles, but not sure with 30 miles, specially when the light i think is about to start flashing,

I don't what the roads are like i.e. stop start but I would think you could make it but is it worth the risk? I would put the £3 in, check under carpets in ash tray ect...you may find some more.

I keep £20 hidden in the car as sometimes I put the shorts and leave the wallet in the jeans.

?Are you in AA or RAC or any other..if you are ring em tell them ran out of diesel..they carry a certain amount on there vehicles,,,they should put some in..enough to get you home ..either that or they will be lifting your car to get you home...if not stick the 3 quids worth in that should get you home anyway if you take it steady.

Doesn't the light start flashing at 15 miles? I have driven for 10 miles with it saying zero.

thanks guys for the advice, yeah the 3 quid i found in my, under mats in the glovebox, im going to take it 10 miles, where ill come across a garage and put the 3 quid, and just cruise home at 60 mph, should do it !
