Default Emissions light on...tried various things...please help

    Hi all,

A few weeks ago my emissions light came on following what felt like a missfire on part acceleration. This kept happening occassionally, after about 5-10 mins of driving, then would be fine. I would part throttle, the missfire was felt, back off the throttle and reapply and it was fine. Somtimes were worse than others.

Had it checked at Vauxhall who said it was a missfire code, remedy was to change the coil pack and / or the spark plugs, I changed both for new units.

All was fine for nearly a week, until tonight I was coming back from work sat it traffic, emissions light came on, went to pull away and the car felt like it was being held back for part of a second, then it was fine again.

Can anybody suggest what may be causing this to happen? And what I can do to stop it happening again?

    Thanks.

Not again mate! What were your plugs like when you changed them? The sooner you get your dials in the better. I think it still could be something to do with your mixture, maybe its running to lean? Could you not take it to an MOT station and get them to hook it up, shouldn't cost much, even better plugged in and on a RR. Maybe its time for them injectors? I know you dont need them till 200 bhp but there are variances in all your bolt on goodies. The US cams might open longer than the Piper ones so from what i'm aware your the guinea pig, and along with the larger inlet and zorst manifold your sucking in way more O2 than stock. Are the injectors a job for your mate or are you going to takle them yourself? Dont think it would be wise to fit the SC TB until its sorted though mate.

    Default

Thr trouble with the injectors is they won't work without being mapped into the car.

I will try and get the gauges in ASAP. I have had trouble with lambda's on my old cars, and this feels like that when I pull away sometimes, but I don't understand why it doesn't come up with a lambda fault code. Stupid computers in cars!!!

The car runs fine when you boot it, and if the problem had been happening since I put the cams in, then I would have put it down to that, but they've been in about 3 months now? I'm well confused with it! Is it the MAF, the lambda, I just don't know??????
