    rolleyes Am i mad??

Alright guys now i bought my 1.9 cdti about a month or so ago and yeah its a good car and its goes well but being a diesel it does have that pause mode when you put your foot down before it goes. I love the economy on it and the cheap tax but i really am missing a petrol car. Seen a couple of 2.0 t xp11 on sale for around 10-11k and im seriously considering trading it in for one. What do you think i would get for mine its an 07 sri 1.9 cdti with 21k on the clock.

    Any help would be great.

Personally, I don't think you've given the diesel long enough to get used to it.

Yes, there will be a small turbo lag, but when you get used to it, you can overcome it easily.

If you trade now, I can guarantee you will lose plenty of cash. OK if that's not a problem right now for you.

Thats what i was thinking i mean i paid 12k for it so to get a straight swap would be good. Only thing is i dont really like the xp11 models as much i mean i like that they have the btcc rear insert on the twin exhaust models but i like the mesh on the grill on the front of the xp1 model.

You will lose out by swapping. How long have you had the diesel and how many miles do you do?

Well iv had the car for about a month but hopefully this time next week il have a new job and could get the train to work most days. If i dont get the job il definitely keep the diesel cos its phenomenal on fuel economy.

I did a similar thing, I bought a Saab 9-5 2.2 vector diesel. I hated it but it was good on economy. I luckily sold it for what I bought it for but I would have taken a loss to get shot of it. I am a petrol head.

    Good luck with the job.

Why not try a tuning box as this will eliminate any flat spots and give you better throttle response and economy if drive appropriately. Maybe you just need to adapt your driving style to accomodate the flat spot if you don't fancy a tuning box etc.
