    Default How stupid are people

It worries me how some parents allow there kids to jump all over the back seat of the car, without having a thought what could happen if they suddenly had to break The amount of little ones you see not strapped in just puts the wind up me totally and its the same when you see them sitting on someones lap, same goes for dogs too.

How many times does it have to be shown on tv before people realise how dangerous it is, they are ones who think (IT WON'T HAPPEN TO ME) it can happen to anyone. Why risk putting your kids through that just cause they can't be arsed to strap them in.

IF I SAW THEM, THEY WOULDN'T GET A TICKET, THEY'D BE OFF TO COURT! It's absolutely crazy and not the childs fault. Quick stint inside might make them re-evaluate their ideas or just seize the car on the spot!

Don't get me started on this topic. I see it every day, kids bouncing around in the front and backs of cars/vans etc

That and people texting, on the phone, doing paperwork etc. All with kids in the car too :

A while ago, I saw some cop on TV having a chat with a female driver who had kids on the back seat not strapped in. He asked her a simple question about what would happen if she hit something at 30mph. She said they would gently hit the backs of the front seats.

When he came back down to earth and removed the steam from his ears, he bascially told her that it wouldn't happen quite like that. They would probably be lying in the road after being propelled head first through the windscreen.

To say she was a trifle shocked would be an understatement.

I see this all the time and it really makes me that parents have so little regard for the lives of their children. Seatbelt laws have stood for years now, and all cars have them fitted, so it's not ignorance, it's plain stupidity.

If any of these mindless morons ever crash and the child is seriously hurt, I'd bet a month's salary they'd blame everyone else before even considering their own neglect.

IMHO the parents of any child that is injured as a result of not being properly restrained should be formally charged with either child abuse, dangerous driving, GBH etc. Courts seem to take the view that having a child injured is punishment enough.

I beg to differ. I've seen these twunts and getting let off is exactly that to them. Lessons are NOT learnt.

I won't carry any loose items in the car like bags etc. If it won't fit in the boot it stays at home. Not having kids strapped in (and like others I see it quite often) is child neglect IMO.

People on the phone, reading maps, reading delivery lists ( ) I see nearly every day.

This kind of thing makes me so mad that wehn I see it on the road I can't drink my coffee and have to put my phone down and stop reading the paper!
Seriously, it's a lack of common sense. If, God forbid, they had to stop suddenly and they fired their kids through the windscreen it would no doubt be someone else's fault.
