    Red face Another tent question.

The tent we bought yesterday was left set up overnight.

This morning there was a light rain shower and I found a few drips on the inside.

They are coming from some straps which are hanging from the roof so is this normal as in condensation or is it leaking?

I don't think it is good for the straps to drip water. What are these straps for? Are they stitched to the shell?? Nomally, seams are taped on the inside to prevent water from leaking in through the stitching material.

You do get a little bit of moisture on the inside of a tent as it is canvas, not plastic and normally if you touch the inside of the tent it will be a little worse. Best to weatherproof the tent, you should be able to buy the proofing at a good camping shop and using a garden sprayer just spray the liquid on. (We do this to the trailer tent every other year)

But I would find out what the strap is for and if it should be like that.

Don't know what they are for yet. The supplied instructions don't mention them at all. They are stitched to the shell at the top of the first dome. There are others at the top of the second dome and they are bone dry.

OK will do. The place we bought it from is just up the road. Will go and check later. The rain was very light so if it is leaking it's gonna turn into an indoor shower when it pours down.

Try giving the outside a coating of fenwicks tent and awning waterproofing spray, you'll get it from Millets or Blacks or somewhere like that.

worked great with our tent, and we now use it on our awning.
