    Default Spring Weights

I have been offered some SRI springs from a car with a front axle weight of 995Kgs but my front axle weight is 1110Kgs does anybody know if the springs are different springs or will they be ok?

Hi paul. I gather the springs you mention are mine, if so, i spoke to steve on the service desk at picadors today about this and was told they should be ok but it would probably sit about 1/2" lower at the front than normal. a bit more reasurance might be wise though.

I am going in there for an appointment today so I will speak to Steve, my only real worry is that I am fitting 18" SRI wheels that are currently being refurbed and I am concerned about clearance.

Clearance will probably be OK when it's just sitting, but with that much difference in weight I'd be seriously concerned about the springs bottoming out when you hit dips or bumps.

    A simple answer is:
The car will not handle as it should with the incorrect weight rating, i personally would not risk it, you are also voiding your insurance by fitting incorrect parts to the motor.
