Hazards Flashing - No Alarm Sounds

Signum 1.9 CDTi Elegance

Last night the missus shouts from upstairs that my hazards were flashing, but the alerm hadn't sounded (We would definately have heard it if it had).

Went outside to check it over, still locked, no sign of "intrusion".

Pressed the "lock" button on the keyfob and it stopped the hazards.

Anyone know what might have caused this ?

Sounds the power sounder has failed

Test the alarm
Open the bonnet, then lower it until it just catches but can still be released
Arm the alarm, then wait until it sets
Lift the bonnet, the alarm should activate
Does the alarm sound?

power sounder battery for sure, but I think you will need to replace the whole unit, about £70. Fairly easy to replace though.

dunno if im right but this happened me the other night. alarm went for a short period of time, then just hazzards. this happened three times after opening and relocking, then i spied a great big moth buzzing around the inside of the car. flapped him out and seemed to cure it. hope this was the reason!!!

Here's a good one for ya...a couple of nights ago my alarm went off 12.30ish am..went outside to check..nothing..opened car and the sun glasses holder had fell out of it's position landing on car floor setting the alarm off...now i could have sworn that when i fitted it..was all the way home where it clicks in..it's a mystery to me...oh dear ..feel a song coming on.

Sunglasses holder just wanting to get closer to the handbrake, that's all!
