Sky Plus software upgrade

Hi,

Anyone done a "forced software download" on their sky box?

Read how to do it, but there are tales of caution suggesting you can render the box unusable if it all goes wrong during the download.

I have a good signal on the display, but dont want to wreck the thing.

Anyone tried it, good or bad result.

I do a download once every 3 months or so, not had a problem yet

its not a case of broke, its a case of slower, when I update it works much more swiftly than before. When I can I try and format the drives too, and rebuild the planner.
Its a PC at the end of the day and routing maintenance improves performance.

So how do you do all this then? I didn't realise anything inside the box was user-changeable.
