Default Arrrrrrrgghhh - What a state!!!

Spent most of last weekend playing with the Megs g220 and got the car looking pretty good.

Went to pick the kids up from the grandparents on Tuesday night from York and went down a road that had been resurfaced - stone chippings everywhere.

Came to wash the car this morning and after a wash this is what I was left with - down both sides of the car, back bumper and boot were also spalttered with tar. The rear wheels were also covered in the stuff.

5 hours later and 3/4 of a bottle AG tar remover later I had most of it off.

Just got all the polish to get back onto the pannels now.

I drove so slowly over the new road surface as well, it was late evening and the road was wet after a rain shower - just amazed at how much had been picked up.

Piggin' hell that's a lot of tar.

What did you use as a wax or sealent last week? The few times I've seen tar spots on our cars they have come off very easily TBH.

I did the car with Megs 80 and 83 then used Collinite 476S on the top.

It was incredibly thick and now have a blister on my forefinger.

The road was only resurfaced for about a mile, but unfortunately 3 miles further down they did it again. Suffice to say I went a different way home.

Send that picture to the local council pal along with the bill...this is one of my pet hates.
1/ The system they use is down to people driving there cars on the road to compact the stuff doing there job fob em.= cheap fix 2/ With the ammount of road fund licence being paid..with the audacity to double it in some cases and yet only 30% odd plowed back....was having a good night til i read this....only joking...rant over.

Well decent enough wax on top. It does very thick. ****** annoying after all the hard work last week.

It's worth letting the council know i'd imagine as surely the tar was no where near dry, so the road shouldn't have been open for people to drive on in the first place?

Get some flaps on there Martin, not the Vauxhall moulded type as they are just a lump of plastic that don't do $h1t, but the rubber flappy ones. Put a set on mine a few months ago and don't get any grief with stone chips or tar spots any more.

Snowman, you got your ears on?

Don't use AG tar remover, get some tardis spray on and watch it melt the tar and wipe it off.
