    Default De-Branding Sony Ericsson K800i

I have successfully unlocked my K800i from T-Mobile to any network, but the phone menus are still branded as T-Mobile.

Does anyone know how I can de-brand the handset?

I dont think you can mate? My brother has a similar problem with a new Nokia Slide that has 3g branding on it, he cant get rid of that either. Im pretty certain your stuck with it!

I debranded a D750i a few years back and upgraded it to a w800i,had it done through ebay, sent it off and recieved it back 2 days later, think i paid £15,worth a look on there first,if not then just do a google search,my sister debranded her w960i recently and cost her £20.......

I've used this place - http://davinciteam.co.uk - to debrand my Vodafoned K750i and it worked a treat. Turned the phone back into what it should have been. The branding had disabled some features and introduced some restrictions which I hated - like not being able to use an MP3 file as a ringtone!, which the standard phone would allow.

When I got my K800i I did the same with it but bizarrely preferred the Vodafone branded version compared to the standard one. In the process of reverting it back it somehow it all got a bit screwed up and killed the phone! I simply took it back to Vodafone and said the phone had died and got it replaced and I left it as it was.

Don't let that put you off, it was probably something I did/didn't do that caused the problem - although I'm not sure what as I'd done it successfully in the past. Plenty of other K800 owners, looking at their forums, have debranded theirs fine. I just preferred the Vodafone branded version in the end. Depending on how 'bad' the branding on the T-Mobile is, I suppose that'll be the deciding factor. I know that on the K750i the Vodafone branding was bad.

unlocked mine recently, but left it branded as you can hardly tell it is branded anyway. You normally need another credit to de-brand.

Yep, with place I linked to it needs another credit to de-brand. I think it needs two credits to unlock.
