confused Brakes with a mind of there own!!

Right bit odd. sometimes brakes work a charm. some times they feel like there running with just air in the pipes.

in otherwords somtimes super stiff (which is how i like it) lol i know i can stop from speed then lol

then sometimes really super super spongey as in im down to the floor for the brakes to work well

odd as ive just bought the car from a Net Q dealer so id assume that it would have the brakes checked and servised?

Would getting new pads, bleeding the system and braided hoses get rid of this?

if so what are the best pads to get? ive heard green stuff or red stuff are the best to go for?

    ta for any help, Will

If its deisel then that may explain it - the brakes on a deisel do not like being 'pumped' frequently as this can make the pedal go slightly 'stiff' then it 'frees up' again. But get them checked though - it's your brakes none the less.

Where abouts in the West Mids are you m8?

It sounds (in my less than expert opinion) like you've got air in the brake lines. If it's got NetQ warranty, get it back in and let them sort it for free.

IMHO first thing to do is get the brake fluid renewed, whether by paying for it (circa £25) or via Q warranty doesn't matter. Don't know for sure with Vauxhalls, but with some brands you can have the car serviced by their dealers every year and the brake fluid still never gets changed unless you specify it as an extra job, despite the manufacturer saying it needs to be done every 2 years. I will add you should get all the fluid renewed, not just bled until the air stops coming out.
