Thumbs down Am actually gona go raj!

    OK,
my dad reversed his rover into my veccy in July.
Buckled wing and scraped the drivers door (this is the third time he has done this, seriously)

so...... Vectra went into the body shop for a week.
Got her back, but it was seriously like a monsoon weather wise, so didnt get a chance to fully check her till I valeted her the following day.

    Disgusted with what I found:
    Paint on windscreen
Paint all up A - pillar rubbers, i/e overspray
Drivers door rub strip sitting about an inch higher than passanger door!!
A chunk missing from my driver door mirror housing!!!!
The interior panel of the drivers door was sitting far too high
The drivers door handle was about to come away in your hand

I called my insurance, they said take it back. I said no, dont trust them to do repair well and asked for independant assesor to come look at it.

They did, eventually, after I threatend them with my lawyer.

Assessor was not happy at job and said that I was righ!
    yay!

God knows why, but the garage called and asked what was wrong I told them and they pleaded for a second chance.
So have bin driving a Zafira for past week and only got vec back on monday!

Guess what......... go on guess !

    The car looks worse now!

Hazey white sploges all along the drivers side, hairs in the paintwork, bubbles!!!!
Fair doos they have fixed the issues wi the drivers door and the mirror but utterly unimpressed!

They want to take it back in on monday! what do u guys think i should do?

Sorry, i know that this is a hooooj post but am blooming annoyed and need to air my rage!

dont let them touch it again...get another independant guy to assess the work again & then take it to someone who knows what they are doing.

then take your dad to specsavers - or buy him driving lessons!

tell them that you want it taken to a different garage and you want compensation for the time it has taken 3 time to fix is not good and also you want some one to work out what your potential loss in value of the car due to there incompetence and you want that back as well. if they say no just tell them you will contact office of fair trading and will take them to court.

Disgusting mate, totally understand your frustration. IT IS YOUR MOTOR so dont settle for anything less than perfect because the slightest tiny little thing will niggle at you for as long as you own it. Get another independant to look at it because if this place touches it again they could be making it harder to put right.

I sympathise mate. Similar jobby was done on my last car. It was the insurers preferred body shop and they were utter crap, had to be re-done by another place. One year later and the body shop is closed down. My leason learnt from that incident, and a previous, if you know of a good body shop then get them to do the job. I have 2 bad experiences using insurance preferred places and both have been crap. Maybe just my bad luck but.... Anyways hope you get it sorted quickly

My girlfriend had a similiar thing, it went into the insurance companies "approved bodyshop" and we got a hire car delivered to home. The car was delivered back after 2 weeks full of orange peel, moulding marks and poorly aligned panels. She said it looked good I said er no it doesn't. I called to say we want to take it back I was told someone will need to inspect it but can't today. I called everyday for 1 month then gave up.

I called the insurance company who said someone will call tomorrow. The call never came so a week later I called again. Still nothing. The hire company called to say they want the car back, I said no not until the car gets repaired as we don't want to be without a car whilst it goes in again. I called a few times a month but still no one calls me and I still have the hire car. We wrote to the FSA after the hire car had to go back the FSA got on the case after a month or so.

The car was taken to another garage of my choice where it had a new bumper and was resprayed. We had the hire car for 5 months but the bad news was when it came to renewing as it was an open claim the insurance went up by £67. The calls to the insurance company cost a fortune after you have been on hold for ages so we carried on the complaint with the FSA against the insurance company and got £30 compo. I wasn't after the money I wanted to know why know one did anything and all that wasted money.

Call your insurance and demand it goes elsewhere. Good luck!
