    Default Car Insurance Renewal

Who do you guys use ???

Is it me or does the cost of insuring a car seem stupidly high ....... my renewals came through and they want an extra £103 from last year which is ridiculous.
Im nearly 39 and the missus is 34, i have a clean licence and no accidents, the missus has 3 points and no accidents, exactly the same as last year but premium goes up.
I rang and asked why ..... would of got more sense out of a chocolate box.

So i rang around and got it down to something more realistic and guess what?? ........... its with another insurance broker (Adrian Flux) but the same insurance company (RSA -MORE TH>N) this is stupid i know.

Anyway i have a few more days to ring around before i commit and just wondered if any of you could mention some worthy alternatives.

I'm with Direct line, its gone down every year for the past 6 except year it stayed the same. Don't think they are on any compasion sites but I checked a load out and none were cheaper. Give them a try.

I change insurer every year. I use confused.com and just pick the cheapest one I've heard of.

Currenty with Zurich who were £175 cheaper at renewal than my last insurer

I've never gone with the same insurance company for two years running for a long time. They're more interested with new business than existing.

I'm currently with Admiral and the wife has her Astra insured with Norwich Union through the post office.

deffinately use the price comparison sites as a start... the first year is always discounted in the hope that you just carry it on..
then once you have the cheapest price, go back to your current insurer and they will almost always try to better it.. just have to play them all off against each other!.. have never paid more than the year before for my insurance by shopping around and playing the 2 cheapest companies off and they always knock that extra bit off the price to get your business!!..
dont always go with the cheapest though.. make sure it has everythin u want.. ie hire car.. legal cover etc etc..

I used the insurance finder on Autotraders website to find the cheapest, I am 34 clean license and the missus is 23 with a provisional license,

Admiral was by far the cheapest for us both fully comp and including the 19ins wheels. Only £375ish

Don't JUST rely on the comparison websites - Direct Line, who often have the best price and have excellent service - don't sell through anyone else, you can only get quotes and cover thru their own website or by phoning them direct.
