Default Couple of questions before modding the airbox!

Just got a few new member questions, so please bare with me

    To explain, I have a Vectra C 2007 1.8 SRI.

I have bought the K&N panel filter and VXR air intake and I want to do the airbox mod.

So is this the correct way to do it....

    1. Disconnect battery
    2. remove bottom airbox panel
    3. fit K&N panel filter
    4. LEAVE the top pipe part in the airbox lid?
    5. fit the airbox lid back on
    6. fit VXR intake
    7. reconnect battery
    8. enjoy

Will disconnecting the battery affect anything? I have the steering wheel with the 4 buttons and 2 scroll wheels.

Just wanted to make sure before i did it. Really dont want to ruin my new car when i get it lol

    Thanks

    Sammy

Just about spot on to me buddy, but i always take the bottom pipe out as well just my preference though ..........Oh make sure you leave the battery disconnected for at least 30 minutes as well then when you re-connect it drive the car like you stole it for at least 20 miles to let it learn !!!!!!

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

Some say it does, some notice no difference.
