    Default NOT watching fuel consumption...

This feels very strange - my old estate had an aftermarket stereo fitted so the 3 line display showed the trip computer constantly. The only thing I was ever interested in was average consumption, so that's what it stayed on, and because it was there, right in front of my eyes, I paid it quite a bit of attention.

Because i'm using the CD70 in my new Signum, the colour display is now showing mp3 track information the majority of the time. I reset the trip computer when I fill up, but that's been the only time I've looked at it really.

With the 1.9CDTi I was always watching the consumption figure, annoyed that it never climbed above 40mpg. With the 2.8T I know it's averaging less than 30mpg but for some reason, because its not in my face all the time, I really don't care!

And now that standard petrol is down to 112.9p, I'm saving about £8 or £9 each time I fill up compared to V-Power diesel too!

Pointless post really, but I suprised myself

But it always make me see just how high i can get it - in my case up in the high 60's while doing a 400 mile journey from north Scotland to Preston. Then I hit the motorways half way through and that put paid to that one...

Whenever I fill up I try and get my av' consumption as high as possible (can usually get it about 50mpg). The after 150 miles or so I usually get the urge to accelerate too hard or push the speed above 70mph on the motorway.

When I have the instant consumption displayed I tend to drive so much more slowly. wiered.

This car doesnt return as many mpg as the last elite with the same mpg?

I do the same, in the wife's car I watch the range constantly, in the Vec (bottom of the range POS) I dont, so drive it like I stole it.
