    Question Wheel Alignment?

I know what the answer to this question should be - just wondered what everyone else's opinion is?...

I need 4 wheel alignment because the tracking was out anyway, and I've just had the suspension lowered.

I've been to www.alignmycar.co.uk - the closest place with Hunter equipment is 26 miles away and will charge upwards of £60-80 depending how much adjustment is needed.

The local Kwik Fit will charge upwards of £55, again depending how much adjustment is needed.

The local independent (read back-street) tyre place charges £50.

I know I really should go for the Hunter-equipped place, but it's about a 45 minute drive each way... What would you do?

If you are ever down in Brum, got to the place I use, "tyre R us", max charge you will get is £40.00 for a 4-wheel alignment.

If there is only front wheel alignment required, may well be just £20-25, and it is all done on a computer with laser beams and what not!!

I use this guy (ANDY) all the time for all of my car(s) and he is top notch!

Give him a call....google "Tyres R Us", in Witton - Birmingham.

    HTH.

Work this out if you can...

Just called both my local Vx dealers, double checked with each one that it was 4 wheel alignment they were quoting for, but they both came back with

    £27.95

Now, I suspect the girls on the phone didn't actually know what I was asking for, and they've probably quoted for bog standard front wheel setup, but it's strange that they both got it wrong, and both gave exactly the same price?

Not sure they all understand what you want. I got mine done when I got the exhaust at MIJ, but they didn't adjust the rear camber, although it was still a 4 wheel alignment.

Probably worth clarifying what you get. I was impressed with the whole Hunter thing, you get a full suspension check first, as they won't align it if anything is worn (this might vary depending on where you go).

Pretty printout of the before and after too

That is weird, something deffo not right there, probably quoted you for balancing. Vx prices for balancing at £27.95 wouldnt surprise me!!
