    Default Front shocks replaced

Got another necessary job done Saturday morning, front shocks replaced.
It’s been years since I’d done anything like replacing shocks.

But seeing as I’d watched the Technical Director Mark (Gsi3.2) at work doing shocks, etc, I thought I’d have a go.

Thought about doing the job outside, but it would be typical that the weather could change. Seeing as there was some workshop space next to my office, it made sense to use it. Got to use the new axle stands as well, great quality stands.

The Bilstein B4 shocks to fit:

Car set up safely in workshop:

These shocks have lasted 130,000 miles, but no signs of leaking:

    Ready to fit:

    Sorted:

I was going to change the front anti-roll bar bushes as well, as the car ‘creaked’ over certain bumps. They seemed ok, so I thought I’d take the risk of leaving them.
I’ve tried the car over the weekend, & the creaking seems to have has gone, so it must have been the shocks.

So, thanks to Mark for the 'teaching'
I wonder how much the dealers would have wanted to do that job

Great work Ian. I've got Drinky for this sort of stuff as me and spanners don't mix very well
The empty workshop worked out a treat.

That's only a small part of the workshop Shan
Taking it into the main workshop would mean driving through all the cr@p in the yard.

Good job m8 After watching Drinky do mine I'd happily do my own brakes but I'd still be reluctant to tackle suspension, especially the front with compressors etc.
